How My Work Will Benefit You And Your Team
Clients value me for my clear frameworks, energizing delivery, and immediately usable tools — whether I’m guiding a room through a tough feedback conversation or teaching busy executives how to write emails that get understood and answered.
For over twenty years, I have helped leaders grow and organizations thrive by helping turn good intentions into everyday behaviours that build trust, engagement, and results. As president and founder of Toronto-based Bruce Mayhew Consulting, my leadership approach is both human-centered and forward-thinking, blending emotional intelligence, strategic vision, and actionable frameworks.
Much of my work involves customizing my business etiquette and soft skills programs to meet the specific needs of my clients and match their culture, strategy, and goals. I am an introvert who loves to be extraverted, having the honor to deliver practical, research-informed programs on leadership and new-leader development, difficult conversations and/or constructive feedback, generational dynamics, time management, and email etiquette. I am also known for weaving data, stories, and humour into memorable takeaways for my audiences.Â
I am proud and humbled to partner with top-tier companies across diverse industries including pharmaceutical, technology, manufacturing, finance, insurance, not-for-profit and professional associations. Clients tell me they value my clear frameworks, energizing delivery, and immediately usable tools as I help them reach their personal and professional goals.
I have been featured on major Canadian media outlets such as Canada AM and Global TV. I have also shared my insights on leadership, communication, and professional development on podcasts, radio interviews, and in articles I’ve written for leading trade publications, reaching audiences across Canada and internationally.
I believe I am in the people-helping-people business, and my job is to bring out the best in your team. You focus on your goals and success. I’ll focus on delivering the learning and performance solutions you need.
About The Path of an Inspired Leader
In my debut leadership book, The Path of an Inspired Leader, I distill my years of work, research and practice into a practical, uplifting roadmap for leading with clarity, courage, and care—so people feel safe, proud of the work they do, and connected to why it matters.
I believe all of us can be great leaders when we choose to be. We will not all lead the same way, but we all have what it takes to be a great leader. My goal for the book is to give you proven strategies on how to lead an a current, diverse and fast-paced environment and to help you give yourself permission to bring out your authentic style and to let others bring out theirs.
About me and my career
I am a keynote speaker, professional development trainer, executive coach and author with over 25 years of experience. I have earned a reputation as a transformational leader and facilitator specializing in leadership development, difficult conversations / crucial conversations training, generational differences, email etiquette, time management and more.
Early in my career, I spent 11 years in the banking sector in roles spanning merchant support, sales & marketing, corporate marketing, and cash management. My experience ranges from launching debit point-of-sale services in Ottawa, Vancouver and other major markets, developing marketing strategies and training materials, training the national corporate sales teams and supporting merger integrations. Our team was also directly involved in a department-wide rebranding initiative. These opportunities — alongside working with some exceptional leaders and colleagues — shaped my strategic thinking and grounded my human-centered, people-first, and results-driving approach, whether I’m guiding teams at a training event, presenting at a conference, or coaching one-on-one.
In my personal time I have actively volunteered for several local, national and international charities, sat on the board of a Toronto based grass-roots not-for-profit agency and am a retired part-time SPIN instructor which I loved doing for over 20-years.
